Who am I…

My name is Candice Perkins, and I am a lifelong Prince George’s County resident, wife, mother, and proud PGCPS alum.

With a passion for educational equity and community engagement, I am excited to submit my candidacy to represent District 9 on the Prince George’s County Board of Education.

Throughout my career and personal life, I have always been deeply committed to our community, advocating for policies that prioritize student achievement and safe, inclusive learning environments.

My experience:

  • Serve as the District 9 Parent and Community Council (PCAC) representative, guiding the Board of Education and Superintendent on sustainable practices for our scholars.

  • Partner with district leadership, parent associations, and community groups to collaborate with school administrators to advance priorities for students.

  • Advocate for equity, safety, and family engagement at the local and state level.

My dedication to these issues drives my commitment to ensuring that every student has access to a high-quality education and that families are meaningfully engaged in their children’s learning journeys to build, align and deliver.
